This summer I am back in Idyllwild as the Assistant Tech Director at Idyllwild Arts Summer Program.  We have a great crew who all seem eager to work and help.  And there is even another lighting guy!

On the full-time work front, I am still looking for a job to start at the end of August or early September.  Have sent out lots of feelers but if you know of any jobs going in Theatre, Graphic Design, Web Design/maintenance, PA, etc... please let me know.

I felt like a change, so I died the end of my hair red this summer.  It will more than likely get chopped off at summer's end so I look respectable again, but for now it is fun!

Well, I am officially overdue for an update.  Here is what has happened since July:

  • I am still looking for fulltime emplyment.  I get the occasional gig from The Barclay Theatre in Irvine.  Next week I am taking the CBEST so I can try substitute teaching.  Who knows, if I like substitute teaching, then I may even decide to get my teaching credential.
  • Today is Ben's Birthday!  Happy Birthday Dear!!!!
  • In September, we moved to a bigger place in Altadena.  It is a 3 bedroom house that needs work, but we are loving having more space.
  • At Christmas my Mother-in-Law gave me a little black and white kitten.  Her name is Nightshade and she is a dear!  She loves to help us do things around the house, cuddle, and follow us around the house.

  • I am starting an online Art Gallery. I am still in the planning stages, but I have a name and a logo.  I am hoping that it will be a good place for fellow designer, artists, and crafts people to get their work shown.

Ok, I am in Idyllwild for the Summer!  Other than that, I am still looking for a full time job. 

On the up side, we just got back our wedding photos and can start the selection process for our wedding album!  Here is a slideshow of some of the photos.

The Bad News: At the beginning of February, I was laid off.  So now I am in the throws of looking for a job. 

The Good News: I am confidant that I will find a job soon-ish.  And the wedding planning is coming along nicely.  Now I have time to concentrate and help Mother with stuff at the house while I continue my job search each week.

Hello there.  Amazing news on my front:  Ben proposed on Mother's Day which means that we are officially engaged.  Before you ask, we are going to set a date in 1 year.  Here's a picture of my gorgeous ring!

Yes, I know.  I have neglected my personal page mightally.  But here is what I have been up to:

•For the last 6-7 months I have been working at Paper Source.
•I have also started working on a show where I am the SM, LD, SD, AD, PM, and Publicity. So much stuff but I think it will be a good experience. As much as I dread going to rehearsals at times, I have an amazing cast that never fails to make me smile!
•I am working Ren Faire again. This year I am splitting my time between Archery and Stewart Ableman's Glass. And I am making Custome Bodices like mad.
•I am goin to be leaving Paper Source in just over a week so I can concentrate on my show and then I turn it over to my assistant so that I can go be the ATD at Idyllwild Arts Summer Program. I am hoping that it will be a fun summer and that I will learn lots about being a TD.

In addition to being busy, I have also been trying to get to Pasadena as much as possible so that I can see my wonderful boyfriend, Ben.  With any luck I will be moving up that direction in the fall, thus eleviating some of that commute.

Yes I have in fact joined security at Northern Faire.  It is proving to be mostly fun if a bit nerve wracking at times.

If you have made it to this page, you have discovered that I reomoved all the personal info from my main website.  This was so that the mainsection of footcandles.net could be my portfolio and something I could pass on to possible employers/customers.  The personal pages are now a subdomain which can be accessed from the bottom of any of the main pages.  Hope this all makes sense.  It was interesting learning how to make this all work.

Ok, lots has happened since my last update. 

Faire came and went.  This year I was part of Archery and had a blast.  Now I have more family than I can shake a stick at and lots of stories to tell.

I finished my last show in grad school and it actually turned out pretty well, all things considered.  There will be pics up in my lighting design section soon (I promise).

The biggest news is that  I GRADUATED!!!!!!  Yippee!!!!  I am now the proud holder of one MFA and I should be getting the piece of paper  to prove it some time this summer. 

  

Since graduation all I have been doing is catching up on sleep and spending some time doing exactly as I please (with the occasional bout of responsibility thrown in for good measure).

And now you are probably asking what I am going to do with my life.  Well, as of July fifth I will be a Captain Usher at Pageant of the Masters in Laguna for the summer.  That should give me enough time to find a full time job.  I am looking pretty much everywhere and in several fields (photography, graphic design, design for theatre, etc...)  I'm not ruling out anything so if you have a contact or suggestion of where to look, I will gratefully accept all thoughts.

And now it is time to go and work on the more pertenant parts of this site (ie. the parts that will hopefully help get me a job!)

Nothing much to report here today, but wanted to put something up so that this was not a blank page.

In the near future, I will be graduating....then there will be the question:  What am I going to do to earn a living?

Valentines Day is tomorrow...I have 1 last show to design before I graduate...
